01 / Villa Mimosa / Decorative wall finishes

Character.Room by room.

From chocolate-brown panels to marble-effect plaster, black columns and a painted dawn: each room at Villa Mimosa has its own character.

  • Custom stencil
  • Venetian plaster
  • Ceiling art

THE FINISHED POWDER ROOM / 2018

A small room.
A personal statement.

Chocolate-brown walls. Cream-edged rectangles. A custom stencil, placed inside the upper squares.

The panel layout carries around the room, framing the mirror and vanity. The contrast gives each element its place; the repeated stencil makes the finish personal to this space.

THE LATER BEDROOM / VENETIAN PLASTER

02 / LATER, THE BEDROOM

A room,
wrapped in marble.

A different room called for a different language: pale colour, wandering veins and a continuous plaster surface.

Let the room set the rhythm.

The scale of the veining, the spaces between marks and the way the pattern travels around openings all affect the room. Here, plaster, exposed timber and the four-poster bed form one composition.

Hand-applied, with its own character.

Pressure, direction and tone give the plaster its movement. The walkthrough below shows the walls during fit-out, before furniture filled the space.

03 / THE MASTER BATHROOM

Black, white.
Full of character.

Black Venetian plaster columns frame the bath. Behind it, bold black-and-white veining turns the wall into the room’s focal point.

ONE VILLA / DIFFERENT EXPRESSIONS

Character at
every height.

Veining follows the columns. Colour travels overhead. The finish belongs to the architecture around it.

04 / WHITE-AND-BLACK COLUMNS

Frame the room.

Dark veining gives the pale columns movement while keeping the view into the sitting room open.

Behind
the finish.

Follow the powder room from setting out to finished detail. Then step into the bedroom during fit-out and the master bathroom during hand finishing. Each room has its own record.

The detail
is deliberate.

Setting out the panels establishes the rhythm. The custom stencil gives the upper squares their own identity.

See the hand
behind the finish.

The trowel works across the black-and-white surface, refining the plaster by hand. This is the bathroom during application, with the bath protected while the wall is worked.
