EXOTICRETEArchitecture · Materials · PeopleABOUT WI / ROOTED IN JAMAICA
Transform people. Advance materials. Inspire architecture.
We shape walls, floors, furniture and outdoor spaces through Science, Craft and Art. Every finish carries a responsibility: serve the space, respect the material and make the experience of being there better.
Meet the thinking behind the workCHALÍK CAMPBELL - FOUNDER / CEO
A maker’s eye. A surveyor’s precision.
A belief that the work can leave people stronger.
Long before ExotiCrete, there was Chalik Designs: Chalík’s decorative finish practice, built through more than two decades of hands-on work. Faux finishes, colour, texture and the possibilities of a surface became a way of seeing an entire space.
He later joined forces with former schoolmate and entrepreneur Mark Dean. ExotiCrete Surfaces Limited was registered in March 2022, carrying that experience into architectural surfaces, concrete fabrication and a wider creative practice.
Fine Arts sharpened his eye. Physics and Chemistry fed his curiosity. Technical Drawing and Land Surveying Technology brought precision and measurement. Architecture, history and culture connected those interests. Concrete gave them a shared medium: a material he could shape as a maker, question as a technician and express through as an artist.
That is the thinking behind the walls, floors, furniture and outdoor spaces we make today: understand the place, respect the material and give every decision a purpose.
WHAT DRIVES THE NEXT CHAPTER
A finish lasts longer when the people behind it understand their craft. Chalík’s next undertaking is the ExotiCrete Institute: a place to connect making with research, disciplined training and the confidence to create. Its development carries one clear ambition—raise the standard of the work by developing the people who do it.
“It will succeed because it inspired people to think differently. To create differently. To lead differently. To build differently. To become lifelong students of their craft.”
THE DESIGN DNA
Architecture before decoration. A purposeful relationship between function, material, place and experience.
MATERIAL. FORM. LIGHT.
Strength gives a space presence. Light brings its details to life. Texture gives it character. We bring those decisions together so the whole feels considered.
See the principles in the workGive form weight, presence and proportion.
Leave room for light, movement and a moment to breathe.
Work honestly with texture, material and the hand of the maker.
Respond to people, culture and the Jamaican setting.
Turn knowledge and ordinary materials into meaningful experience.
Texture gives the surface character. Open space gives the eye room to rest.

THE EXOTICRETE INSTITUTE / IN DEVELOPMENT
Knowledge must travel further than one pair of hands. We are building an Institute that connects five schools through science, craft and art—developing people, investigating materials and strengthening Jamaican capability.
Architectural surfaces. Fabrication and furniture. Material science. Design technologies. Professional practice. Explore the intended offer, our training experiences and the practical pathway we plan to begin with.
